Dirt Baby at Women’s Work Festival

41805_375651179114567_1481711635_n 2On May 8, 2013, Dirt Baby, a new full-length play by Katherine Koller (AB), was read at the Women’s Work Festival in St. John’s, Newfoundland. This festival of new full-length work by Canadian women is in its 7th year, and also featured plays by Sally Stubbs (BC), Meghan Greeley (NL), Christine Comeau (PQ) and Andrea Dymond (NS). The Festival is co-produced by She Said Yes Theatre, RCA Theatre and White Rooster Theatre. Dirt Baby was read by Colin Furlong as Ryder, Agnes Walsh as Nanny Grey and Emily Bridger as Jodi. The Dramaturge for this reading was Greg Malone. Before the reading, Kira Sheppard provided harp and vocal music and a Q & A with the playwright followed the reading. The Women’s Work Festival, May 1-9, 2013, also featured a playwriting workshop with Sally Stubbs and a panel discussion including Katherine Koller.
